Thanks for your comments, I have used the AVG clear tool, reinstalled AVG IS again, now it is working again. So yes it works. That said, reinstalling does add up another device to the # of devices (in total 10 that I have) to use my subscription. Is there a way to compensate because the device is the same as before? And I used your guidance to do this. Thanks

I am unable to open the AVG Security. I already used the repair function. Now it is installed, but I can not access it using the icon nor the link in the program. There is no other security application running. How to get it working again?

We are glad to know that your issue has been resolved. 
We would like to clarify that if you reinstall AVG Internet Security on the same PC, it will be counted as a new device but no need to worry about that because our AVG System will scan for inactive devices in every 30 days. And all the inactive devices will be automatically deactivated and also correct device count will be updated.
