Hi Dinesh, Thank you for your help. I was unable to get anywhere with your suggestions as nothing seemed to sork So I decided to re-set windows 10 without losing my files - and it worked! Took me all day and I am still reinstalling programs but everything is working fine - even AVG. I have it up and running and it's like a brand new computer.

Please restart your computer in safe mode once & then try to run AVG Clear tool to check if it helps.
