Hi Michael,
Thank you for the information.
By default, Passive Mode is disabled. If AVG is the only antivirus software installed on your PC, we recommend only enabling Passive Mode temporarily for troubleshooting purposes. To keep your PC actively protected from malware and other security threats, ensure that Passive Mode is not enabled.
We advise you to try to repair the AVG Internet Security and check if the issue with random scan is resolved.
Please refer to the below article to repair AVG Internet Security:

Keep us posted.
Hi Michael,
We're glad to look into this & help you.
Please let us know the operating system of your computer & the version of AVG installed (Open AVG - Menu - About).
Also, clarify whether you've checked the scheduled scans in AVG program.
I have purchased AVG anitvirus and have it run a scan on a scheduled day and time. What would cause the program start a scan automatically on a different day and time that that which is scheduled? This activity seems to be happening regularly at one day and two and a half hours after the scheduled scan. I did not schedule the scan.
Hello Dinesh,
I am running Windows 10 and the AVG version is 22.1.3219 (build 22.1.6921.707).
I have checked the scheduled scans and I have only one. This is to run at noon on Sunday every week.
I did notice that the Passive Mode was was turned off.
Would this allow AVG to run random scans?
The scan history shows many scans at radom times.
I have turned Passive Mode back on.
Will this help with random scans?
