Avg send mail that i'm on the dark web

Hello Mike,

My name is Jovana, and I’m on the AVG Customer Care Team. Please accept my apologies for the delay.
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the MOVEit breach, I’d be happy to answer your questions and help you.

First and foremost, thank you for being cautious and checking with us directly. We did send you a legitimate notification to inform you that some of your personal information was involved in a recent cyber event.

Low-risk data was impacted, such as name and contact information like country, address, email, and phone number, as well as information on the product you’ve purchased from AVG. Not all customers had all of these fields exposed. The majority involved only name, country, and postcode or less, for example only your name and country.  No banking details, credit card numbers, or high-risk data such as log-in information or account details were taken.

While the information is not considered high risk, we take this seriously and want to ensure you are prepared to be vigilant against any potential phishing threats using this information. As a valued customer, we are here to help. If you do not already have Dark Web Monitoring in place, we can help get you set up with complimentary Dark Web Monitoring services for 6 months. You will be receiving an email from us with instructions on how to redeem your product offering.

Furthermore, I apologize for the email being sent in Dutch, it is most likely based on the address you inserted when creating the account with AVG.

I hope that was helpful and I’m sorry for the inconvenience. If you need anything else at all, feel free to reach out to us at any time.
