Thanks for the prompt reply.
I temporarily shut down the entire AVG Internet Security program, and was able to switch my folders from "Read only." Turning AVG Internet Security back on caused the issue to reoccur.
Then, using the article you provided, I disabled the File Shield, the Behavior Shield and Ransomware Protection one at a time.
The issue was not resolved when any of the above components were disabled.
There seemed to be no option to disable Network Inspector individually, so I was unable to do so.
As of this writing, all AVG components have been re-enabled and the "Read only" issue is ongoing.
Appreciate your efforts in working towards fixing the issue, Paul.
To further investigate on this, we'd suggest you to take advantage of our additional support by following the steps in the email that has been sent to you.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!
Since my AVG updated yesterday all the folders on my SSD are now set to "Read Only" and when I try and change that setting through "properties" it immediately reverts. I know this is an AVG issue because when I disable AVG it allows me to access the folders properly.
How do I stop my anti-virus from doing this?
Running AVG Internet Security on a Windows 10 (64) PC.

Why couldn't y'all post the solution or keep the discussion in this answer area since this is a really common problem and I am having the same exact issue right now… This isn't the first time AVG has caused issues with me being able to manage the files on my computer and I am just about ready to give up on it and look for another anti virus program to use that isn't so problematic.

I am unable to download GBWhatsApp on my computer because AVG keeps blocking the.apk file (https://luluboxapk.info/). What should I do, please?
