AVG Settings Help

The registered email is (Email address removed) and the order ID is (order ID removed). Although, I am not sure how that information will help you and I am not very comfortable posting it on an open forum. May I suggest that you set up a secure email for the exchange of such information in the future.

I did this and had PC TuneUp ignore the program that controls the backlight on my keyboard that concern is resolved.

Also, thank you. I see the post that had my sensitive information above and you removed the information before posting the response. Thank you.
I await your response on the scanner issue.

Thank you Abirami. However, you will notice that this link was in the first response and I am still struggling. Is there additional support or advise that you could supply?

I still can't use my scanner without disabling my firewall.

Hello Elizabeth,

Thank you for the detailed information.
Unfortunately, we couldn't find your paid subscription on your account.
Did you purchase the Zen subscription from our official website or reseller or from Google PlayStore?

Ranjani,
I referenced the support article you suggested and created the following packet rule. Enabled: True | Name: Scanner | Action: Allow | Protocol: All | Direction: In | Address: xxx.xxx.xx.x (where the x represent real numbers in an IP address) | Local Port: empty | Remote Port: empty | ICMP Type: empty | Profile: All
The scanner is still not communicating unless I turn off the firewall. Where do I need to make corrections? Yes, the IP Address is correct, It was the first thing I verified.

AVG Zen is a paid subscription for one year. I am running the AVG PC Tuneup program and doing optimitzation. I have been looking all thorough the settings for ones that may be affecting the backlight to no avail.

Elizabeth,
We are sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused. For first issue, we request you to follow the below article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-block-or-allow-IP-addresses-in-Firewall. And for second one, have you installed our AVG PC Tuneup program and did optimization? Let us know if you have installed the trial or free or paid version of AVG program. Please, feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance. Thank you.

I have AVG Zen 2017. Since installation, I have found several quirks. Two are especially troublesome and I can't seem to find the settings myself. First, I can't use my scanner without disabling my firewall. I know I should be able to set an exception but I need assistance in how to do so.

Second, it has disabled the backlight on my keyboard and I need it when I work in my livingroom while my younger brother is crashing in my home.

Can you help?

Thank you Abirami. However, you will notice that this link was in the first response and I am still struggling. Is there additional support or advise that you could supply?

Before we all waste time, may I suggest we read the activity and information already containined in the ongoing thread before asking additional questions that have already been answered or suggesting steps that have already been taken.
It is a paid version of AVG Internet Security; 2017 AVG Zen. In reference the article, I have created the following packet rule. In reply to Rubina Fathima on Feb 27, I supplied both the registered email and order ID.
Please can we move on to the next troubleshooting steps and continue working towards allowing me to scan without disabling my firewall.

Hello Elizabeth,

Hello Elizabeth ,
Thanks for trying with our suggestions. Please restore all the changes made by AVG PC TuneUp using the article ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-revert-changes-done-by-PC-TuneUp ) to solve your keyboard backlight issue. Also, let us know your AVG registered email address and Order ID of your AVG purchase to help with your scanner issue.
Thank you.

Rescue Center restorations did resolve the backlight issue. It was the disabled programs backup file. Can I protect programs that I don't want it to disable?

Thank you all for your assistance. I finally decided this approach was not going to result in a resolution and called tech support, with the account owner, my mother. I can now scan with the firewall active.
You need not reply any futher to this thread.

You are most welcome.
Yes, we are glad to provide you the additional support in resolving the issue but are you using the trial or paid version of AVG Internet Security program?

Elizabeth,
Do you mean you would like certain programs not to disabled by AVG PC TuneUp? There is an option in your AVG PC Tuneup to put programs to sleep mode to stop them from running in the background which speeds up your computer. If you are referring to this setting, you can click on ignore to keep the program running.
