AVG settings wiped my phone during set up

This morning I had a notification on my phone, a samsung galaxy S7 edge, for AVG security, so I opened it and I paid for a 1 year subscription.  When I was setting up the security, and what i wanted to be able to do, if it was lost or stolen, I selected that I wanted to be able to remotely wipe the device.  The second I selected that, my phone shut off and has been wiped.  Now I can't get into my phone.  It says to please log in, using an account that was previously on the device.  It looks like the phone was stolen and I tried to wipe it.  There was no "you are wiping your device" or "are you sure?" message, just BAM, everything is wiped. It's ruined my entire day, it messed up a lot of things for me at work, which a lot of people rely on me for.  I am absolutely LIVID! Please help!
