Also check if you have any older version of AVG still installed in your computer, you can check this from the control panel. AVG shedule scan does not run after update to AVG 2017?

1.the schedule scan only starts when the pc is on, but always shows 0% progess, a green dot appears next to cog icon when finished
2.the scan doesn't start on computer wake if the time has been missed with the pc on sleep

Please be informed that the PC should be turned ON at the time of scheduled scan.
Also, if the PC is got into sleep mode the schedule scan will not start. The instance of schedule scan will be aborted and it will start at the next time of instance.
