Hi,
Re: AVG Antivirus Free running on Windows 10.
A lot of times AVG has "stalled" mid scan and the computer is unresponsive to mouse clicks so I need to force close my computer. As a workaround I have found that going to AVG "repair" and then running a scan works but this "stalling" scenario is not a one off and I wonder if there is a fix that you can apply?
Hoping you can help,
Wayne
Hi Lathika,
As yet, no problems after using your clear tool and re-installing AVG. Fingers crossed!
All the best,
Wayne

Good afternoon Samuel,
Thanks for your reply. Other than the antivirus that comes with Windows 10 I have no other antivirus software installed. Occasionally I install Malwarebytes but I often uninstall it after running it and my "stalling" problems seem to happen whether or not it is installed.
Hope this helps,
Wayne

Glad to know that, Wayne. Thank you for updating the status. Have a great day. Stay safe!
Hi Samuel,
I certainly will try your suggestion of a fresh install which I have done in the past but I have very little faith that it will cure my problem and I fully expect to see more "stalled" deep scans in the future after a fresh installation. That being the case I shall probably opt to routinely asking for a "repair" before running a deep scan since this is quicker than a fresh install and seems to get around the "stalling" problem.
Thanks for your help,
Wayne
