AVG Status Overall after 01-Apr-2020 Update

Hello Val. Thank you for the update, and I am happy to have helped you.

Specific to your concern of the scan functions afforded by your AVG AntiVirus, to clarify, there are multiple scans functions to choose from: Computer Scan, Deep Scan, USB/DVD Scan, File/Folder Scan, Performance Scan and Boot-time Scan.

I suspect your concern is specific to the automatic scan feature, which checks for (1) browser threats, (2) virus & other malware, and (3) advanced issues. Furthermore, you referenced your last virus scan only reflects a deep scan. This is not the intended behavior.

I am going to suggest that you perform a repair of your AVG AntiVirus. The following self help, https://is.gd/14lbHS, provides detailed instruction (including pictures). Wishing you a speedy recovery. All the Best, Shawn

Hello Val. Thank you very much for taking the time to write, and I apologize for the delayed response.

I assure you, the experience you expressed, is not the intended experience we wanted for you to have had. I will further assure you, that you are indeed protected, as referenced by the program.

Specific to your question, of the status of the released update, version 20.2, it is up and running and without issue. Immediately after the update, some of our users reported a disruption of their Firewall. Our development team was immediately aware of this issue, of which a fix has since been released.

Thanks for the feed back Shawn.  It is appreciated.  Software appears to be working properly.

I have noticed that there are only two (2) scan components now (Browers Threats and Virus/Malware) when it use to be four (4) (Browser, Virus, Advanced and Performance); same results on multiple PC's.  Is this the new norm now?

Also, "last scan date" does not update after regular scans, only after deep scan is performed.

Thanks again,
Val.

Lots of customers having problems after the 01-Apr-2020 AVG update.  What is the status of the software itself as of now?  Is there a new update coming to correct the package and with all the recommended actions taken (repair, uninstalls, reset to default, etc.), is the software doing what it should for our protection.  I have several PC's using this software and all acting differently after this 01-Apr-2020 update.  We don't know if we are actually protected; we can't rely on the software "You are Fully Protected."

Would you please set up a status page somewhere stating relative information regarding the software and no where does AVG tell you what the latest builds and dates are.  what is the latest build and date?

I am sure this is effecting productivity of many of your paying customers.

Thanks,

Val.

You indicated having multiple computers, and experiencing multiple issues. You did not elaborate on what specific issues you are experiencing, on either of your machines. If specific to the referenced firewall, again, an update was pushed days ago, that will automatically resolve the disruption you may have experienced. This fix was automatic, and does not require any user intervention (i.e. uninstall, reinstall, etc.).

You asked about a status page that references recent product updates and builds. At this time, after a product is updated, you are presented with an in-program splash page, "See What's New," that highlights the updates, specific to your updated product.

Lastly, I will share your suggestion, for an actual status webpage that highlights product updates and builds, for our development team to further consider.

All the Best, Shawn
