AVG was uninstalled sucessfully. Full reboot executed.
The (correct) 64 bit file was downloaded. But when it tried to install I got the install failure error code 0xe001f949.

All,
I use Windows 8 with all updates. My AVG is automatically updated.
I noticed that the AVG icon had disappeared from the notification tray. No AVG program has uploaded itself to memory on boot - I have checked with Task Manager.
I tried to uninstall the current version to install a new working version.
When attempting to unistall through the control panel I get an error, from AVG, that installation failed with error code 0xe001f499.
Tried to google this error code with no success.
I then tried to use AVG remover but it is unable to find the AVG free that is installed.
Please help on how to make AVG work again. Help is much appreciated.
