I currently use Ultimate purchased from a third party some years ago.
I was able to register the purchase in order to download the required software but, my purchase is not registered as a subscription which means that, if I need to repeat the download process (say for a new device or even recovery), I have to go thru a more involved procedure involving finding the email confirmation, authorisation code etc than just logging in to AVG.
Seems to me that my software is all genuine AVG acquired from an approved AVG sales agent so, why can't it be treated like any direct purchase 🤔
