what can i do to keep runing my xp do i have to upgrade it can i up grade to windows 7  i don/nt like windows 8 thank you jane.

It's generally recommended to upgrade to the newer version of the operating system http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-xp-to-windows-7#T1=tab01. However the options varies based on your HW setup. I'd recommend consulting this with your computer go-to guy.
