Hello Ravi-Gi: I see that you have understood my complaint and admitted that AVG uses a method of "campaigning" (advertising) that imposes on my computer an interruption of my use. Indeed, I cannot proceed unless I remvoe the popup by clicking on the small "x" it contains to close it.
That admission is enough for me to reproach AVG for its lack of respect and consideration for its uses. In this regard, AVG is behaving like a street peddler who shouts his wares with a bull horn to penetrate one's house and privacy. In most communities, this is a violation of law with a severe fine and time in jail. That is what AVG deserves in this case.
You know what you are doing, AVG. You do not need further documentation from me.
I to am getting this message saying I need to download and add extra things. It has totally wound me up so I will not be renewing my subscription to AVG. I signed up for the best available option and am fed up with being bombarded with messages saying my computer could be faster if I add this extra feature and my battery will last longer if I add another thing. Sorry but you have lost my faith in your products and will not be renewing next year
Hello Alvin, I am really sorry about the pop up advisories. There are a couple of pop ups related to campaigning of new products. Could you please take a screen shot of that and send it to us so that we will be able to assist you much better? Steps to take a screen shot : http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot . Thank you.
In the past week, for the first time in my long experience with AVG Anti-Virus Free, I am experiencing popup advisories from AVG Technologies CZ, sro, to download a new version of the software. In the past such advisories were made within the AVG installed software when I ran an AV scan. At present, I do not receive such an advice within the normal scan software. If this download is so important, why does my software tell me that everything is up to date and "You are protected"?
Hello Alvin, I certainly understand this issue. However AVG pop-ups will not produce sounds which interrupts your work as you mentioned. It could be some other application or infection pop-up. I request you to connect us through the following link http://avgread.me/1LKv8dv to analyse more about this issue. Thank you.
Don,
I understand this must be annoying.
The frequency of Pop-Ups can be controlled directly from the application or can even be Turned Off. Please open AVG Internet Security, click on Menu>Settings. In Settings Window, expand "Pop-Ups" and uncheck "Show pop-up offers for other AVG products".
