AVG TuneUp Automatic Maintenance

Hi David,

We're glad to clarify this for you.
When enabled, Automatic Maintenance doesn't require any action from you, and runs silently in the background to free up space on your PC by removing dispensable items, such as broken shortcuts and registry items.
AVG TuneUp scans your PC every 7 days. Automatic Maintenance is only run if the scan reveals one of the following issues:

  • 100 MB or more of cleanable space on your system
  • 100 or more broken registry items
  • 100 or more broken shortcuts
  • 100 or more tracking cookies
Whereas, when you've ran the maintenance scan manually, it allows you to review the detected items in the scan result & fix the preferred items.
Alternately, you can manage items to be cleared during 'Automatic maintenance' by : Opening AVG TuneUp - Menu - Settings - Automatic maintenance (skip/include the preferred items).
Thank you for your understanding in advance!

Due to this not working properly, I uninstalled the whole of AVG TuneUp and re-installed it.  Still wrong.

If I open AVG TuneUp, select Free up space, then Show browser data 8 categories have been cleaned.  These include ‘Browsing history’ and ‘Other cookies’, which I don’t want cleaned.

How do I stop the system from cleaning these two categories?

This is not working as it is suggested.  The automatic maintenance is set to only clean ‘tracking cookies’, but every time it cleans all cookies.

I think one used to be able to change things at the ‘show’ stage, but that option isn’t available anymore.

Thank you for writing back to us, David.
We are sorry to know this.
We have sent you an email asking you to connect to our AVG free remote session in order to fix this issue and please reply to that email for further assistance.
Thank you.

This article does not cover ‘Un-Selecting’ categories to be cleaned.
Nor are browsers listed in History.
