AVG Tuneup deleted important files it said weren't needed

Hello Wendy.
We regret the inconvenience caused.
However, we would like to inform that AVG TuneUp will not remove files without the user consent.
When you run a maintenance scan, AVG TuneUp will present the results.
By default, files from critical folders like Downloads, Recycle bin, Windows log files, Old restore points are excluded.
User can tick preferred data to remove. Since restoring PC settings to an earlier date does not work, we'd request you to use the original Windows installer CD to repair Windows.

Apparently these two files dealt with login info. Once they were deleted and recycle bin cleared out I turned off computer. The next day went to restart and log back on but got the message that the service wasn't available. Restarted in safe mode and tried to access many of the administrator functions in the user accounts but most of them wouldn't work or open once clicked. I was able to remove the password for the account but still got the same message that said the service was unavailable. I had turned on system restore in the past but when I went to access it said there were no records and it wasn't activated? I now have serious concerns that AVG can safely secure my systems. Additionally, the system disc for this vital system has been misplaced so I believe this may be a fatal error without a cure.

Please accept our sincere apologies, Eric.

This isn't the experience we wanted you to have had.
We'd like to clarify that once the scan finishes, the AVG TuneUp will prompt an option to check & uncheck the data (Junk files/Broken registries/Old restore points) the user wishes to delete/remove.
If you over looked it & deleted the files, it is not possible to retrieve them. You can share your feedback regarding this issue to our developers team directly, from your AVG Internet Security program.
