Hi Rich,
This isn't the usual behavior of AVG program. Let us work towards fixing the issue.
Do you have VPN enabled in your PC?
Hi,
PC Tuneup is killing the performance on my PC. I've disabled it on startup but it still runs and task manager won't kill it. It appears to be the cleanup utility that causes the issues - often using in excess of 60% of memory and 75% CPU
Running 64 bit windows 10 2004 with 8gb RAM on 21.1.2404.1544 of tuneup
Thanks
Right, I uninstalled AVG tuneup and now all my microsoft apps stopped working. I tried to repair Office which didn't work and have now completed system restore, which also didn't work (it did reinstall tuneup though)!!!
I guess I need to reinstall Office, but why did this happen??
Rich, we're sorry to hear that you've decided to cancel the auto-renewal of your AVG TuneUp.
As per your request, we've cancelled the auto-renewal of your AVG TuneUp (Multi-Device) subscription.
You can rest assured, as it won't be renewed and no money will be taken from your account for the renewal.
Regarding the screenshots, we've just sent an email to your registered email address. Please share us the screenshots as a reply to that email.
Thanks in advance.
We appreciate your efforts
Yes, you have manually restore the settings before the uninstallation.
Please provide us the screenshot of the error message to investigate further.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Keep us posted.
Is it right that after uninstalling tuneup, that all programs that were asleep are not reverted as part of the Uninstall process?
I had to reinstall tuneup as the system restore only put the image back but didn't allow me to run the program. Office wasn't asleep so I had to reinstall it to make it work (I had error 0x426-0x0)
If I remove tuneup again, do I need to first manually restore all my old settings to prevent further problems?
As my susbscription is cancelled, will I still be able to use TuneUp - I need to reverse all the changes before uninstalling it.
You're welcome, Rich.
Yes, you'll be able to keep using your AVG TuneUp till it expires.
We've replied to your email response. Please keep up the conversation via email for quick & better assistance.
Thank you for understanding.
Hi Rakshith,
I do have NordVPN, yes. Issue occurs whether I am connected to it or not
Thanks
Hi,
Firstly, I got a system error stating "we could not find the location of xxxxxxx" for any Office documentation or for Microsoft Edge. After running system restore, those errors went away, but I then got a standard Microsoft error message: "Something went wrong, we couldn't start your program. Please try again. If it won't open, try repairing Office from programs/features in control panel 0x426-0x0"
I tried the repair option, which didn't work, so did online repair which reinstalled Office and I had to get a new license key to reactivate it.
I then had to repair TuneUp as it wouldn't open. There are 17 apps 'asleep' but not Office.
I want to remove TuneUp because I bought it to improve the performance and it is having the opposite effect. Also, I don't wish to continue paying for an application purely because removing it will break my computer
Unfortunately, this page won't let me attach any images.
