I have been unable to access any of my Microsoft Office 2013 programs or DropBox for the last five days. I have checked for registry problems and uninstalled latest MS updates in case they had caused a conflict but no difference. If I click on any of the MS programs or files I get the message That the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command line sxstrace.exe tools for more details. I have realised that these are the same and only programs that I have let Tuneup sleep until required. All other programs work as normal. I tried to open AVG Tuneup from the desktop icon and find that that is also unavailable with the same message as above headed by C:\ProgramFiles\AVG\TuneUp\Ul.exe. Searching the Event viewer also shows errors on the Sidebyside link relating to AVG TuneUp.
I need to get these programs back urgently as I use them in publishing a monthly magazine.
I have of course done the necessary scans which show no problems.
