You need to erase the traces of AVG PC tune up before proceed with AVG performance installation.

Still didn't work, backround service failed to start, please restart. Same result. Seems like PC tuneup dosen't comptete first install stops at 88% then second attempt seems to install but still won't run. It had been running fine a month ago then I started getting the windows message about the backround service. Out of time today to play with it. I will try another uninstall and reinstall later.
My avg tuneup quit working and fails to start leaving messages to contact support. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times but same result. It's a paid version and Zen logs into my account and downloads and installs it but won't run.

Yes I just tried it again and same messages : Tuneup services won't start, try restarting, no change, contact support. Tried turing off my firewall but no success. I'm at a loss
