AVG Tuneup Serious detection flaws

Hello Jim,
The screenshot you have provided did not load properly. We suggest you to send us the screenshot again.
Thank you

There are serious discrepancies in the detection program for AVG Tuneup's System Information.

Merom was the 65nm ORIGINAL Core 2 Duo for mobile.
Penryn came next
then came Nehalem,
then Westmere,
then Sandy Bridge,
then Ivy Bridge,
then Haswell,
then finally, MY CPU, Devil's Canyon.

MY CPU has 8 megs of cache.  My motherboard has an AMI UEFI BIOS.

I have some freeware utilities that correctly identify my components.  Please make the one I actually paid for work correctly.  This is small stuff, but it makes the programmers look incompetent.

No.  i'm NOT giving remote access again.  It took over a week to fix the one problem we have on record after your guy went in and poked around my system.  I ended up having to fix it myself.

What I see is an issue that many programs have in display detection, but the ability to parse the CPUID instruction can be found in the following document starting on page 292 of the pdf (page 3-190 of the manual): http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/manuals/64-ia-32-architectures-software-developer-vol-2a-manual.pdf

Any changes to the above can be found here: http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/manuals/64-ia-32-architectures-software-developers-manual.pdf

as a software developer, the problem with your detection of CPUs is not mine, it is the program itself not having been updated to properly identify new CPUs since apparently 2006.  the cause of the problem is obvious.  patch it.  please the document links on to your programming team, they apparently don't have a current copy.

Jim, For your info, just in case that you are unaware, you can post the screenshot (http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Hello Jim,

We can understand that you aren't interested to get our remote support.
We have escalated to our concern team to get suggestions regarding your issue.
Once we get a reply, will post it here. Your patience is much appreciated.

Are you the only people in the world that can't load a dropbox jpg from droplr?  I just tested this using a friend in the usa, a friend in india, a friend in the netherlands, and a friend in australia, and all of them could load the image from the drop.  the teleport.greyalien.tech domain is mine, and is a cname to my droplr.

do you people have a firewall that blocks dropbox services?

They need to update the Tuneup "System Information" utility to accept processors made after 2006…  Seeing this big a problem, I'm wondering what else is inaccurate in Tuneup, and if it's recommednations can be trusted.

I do note that this utility did detect the MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming 4G as the primary adapter, unlike the driver update utility which didn't detect it, but instead detected the HD4600 iGPU, although this utility did fail to detect that the iGPU was in use for the secondary monitor, nor did it even sense a secondary monitor.
