Trying to scan the C drive and every time I run the AVG Tuneup it gets to Stage 2: Examining file name linkage… and it freezes at 84%. I have rebooted the computer, I let it sit overnight and nothing changes, any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks

To reiterate, I recently bought a renewal to my AVG IS 2019 and TuneUp 2019 for one year covering 3 x PC's. The activation code given by a third party worked fine for IS but only on 2 PC's for TuneUp. I contacted sales as suggested and was put through to tech support who after checking the query gave me a new activation code for TuneUp on my 3rd PC. It worked but then it reverted to a 30 day trial asking me to register TuneUp again? I'm confused as to what to do next. The activation code and license key process doesn't appear to either work or recognise that I've a bought a license for 3 x PC's. Do I uninstall then reinstall TuneUp on my 3rd PC or is there something wrong with the code given by tech support?
I don't know what it is about AVG Tech Support but I'm getting tired of seeing and hearing the same lame excuses for supposed answers to technical faults. I too have had the same problem time and time again with Disk Doctor sticking then on my latest laptop exactly as described above and yes I am running AVG IS paid for v19.4.3089 (build 19.4.4318.456). In running Disk Doctor on my old laptop it not only kept sticking at 11%, 20% and 84% but eventually the hard disk crashed due to some corruption caused by Disk Doctor which I then had to replace the hard drive and rebuild my laptop. I reported this and spoke to a guy in tech support and that was the last I heard of it. AVG never even got back to me and now the same is happening again. You don't need screenshots if you know about this and it's been happening for at least the last 3 months
Hello Matt,
We are sorry to hear this. Could you provide the screenshot of AVG TuneUp interface where it shows the scanning progress?
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
BTW I still cannot see my subscriptions or products listed in my account. This has been the case for the last 12 months and I have reported this too and it's not the first time it's happened. Tell me what is the excuse of "we are redocorating" on my account page?
See attached pictures above. When I just ran it, I did get a message that there were ERRORS FOUND, when I click on FIX NOW, it tells me I need to reboot. I select reboot now and nothing happens. I manually rebooted my system and shut it all the way day and nothing changes. Once I click on FIX NOW and then REBOOT NOW, nothing happens.
Peter, I have sent an email with instructions to get connected with our remote assistance team. Please follow those instructions to get in touch with them to resolve your issue.

Thank you for the screenshot.
We are aware of this issue and it would happen when you have AVG Antivirus free or AVG Internet Security old version.
It has to be updated to the latest 19.4 version and then check the status with AVG TuneUp "disk doctor" scan.
It seems that you should have AVG Antivirus free installed. If yes, repair it as mentioned in this article and then open its program interface.
Click on "Menu–>About" and see whether it shows as 19.4. If yes, get into AVG TuneUp and perform the scan using "disk doctor".
Keep us posted.
