Hi Alan, Thanks for the link. However I've already tried to call the technical support center and what the staff suggested was not helpful at all. That's why I posted my question here. Still thanks.
Hi there,
I got a quite complicated issue with my "Clean Up Browser" function, and I would appreciate a lot if there is anyone could provide any advice on it. Following comes the description.
Currently I am still using Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 as the OS, which requires me to manually change the user folder name whenever I would like to change my admin user account name.
I changed the user account name and the user folder name, say from OLD to NEW, and manually modified the correponding value of ProfileImagePath in registry accordingly to NEW last Saturday. Everything worked fine except that the "Clean Up Browser" then could only detect "Cookies, Internet history, Optimize databases, Saved passwords" but nothing like "Caches" etc…
The path to ProfileImagePath is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList<User SID>.
Really curious is there any way I could let the TuneUp re-detect the "Caches" through "Clean Up Browser" while keeping my user account folder named as NEW?
Thanks in advance and look forward to any advice.
Best regards,
Jeff
P.S.: Today I changed the account folder name back to OLD as well as the registry, then the "Caches" comes back but somehow I lost the "Saved passwords".
This shows that at least the TuneUp and the Clean Up Browser function well. Thus I suspect that the reason it could not find "Caches" previously should be some saved paths were not modified from OLD to NEW as other softwares.
Yesterday I have also tried to uninstall and delete as many files as I could find, and then installed the AVG PC TuneUp 2015 again. However, the TuneUp could always remember previous usage information.
