Open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->System Rules->Configure\enable Printer and sharing
Open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Network Profile->If the profile is set to public, please change to private and check if that fix the issue.

Once I have installed AVG ultimate on my PC and laptop I have now noticed my laptop won't print to a wireless printer. I have also noticed that Plex on my PC is no longer accessible from my smart TV.

I am sorry to hear that the issue persists. Please disable AVG temporarily in your computer and check if you are able to connect to the printer.
To disable AVG temporarily, please right click on the AVG icon present at the bottom right corner of your desktop and you can see an option to "Disable Protection".
Please update me the status of this troubleshooting.
