Please open AVG TuneUp program and then select Speedup tile.
Choose Background and startup programs and check if brothers printer is put to sleep mode.
If it is in sleep mode, then please wakeup that application and check if it helps.

I ended up calling for individualized help I believe on June 26th. We still could not resolve the issue except suggested I uninstall the entire software program. Finally resolved it today. So if anyone is reading this make sure you indeed to:
- ENABLE ALL TABS in your AVG Internet Secure package (menu, then settings, then full protection, then system rules to check all tabs enabled).
- WAKE UP PRINTER in your AVG Tune-Up Program (all functions, under Speed Up select "Show Background & Set Up Programs, Programs Sleeping, wake up printer but do not hit ignore the program, just wake it up).
- If your printer still does not work, then you will have to uninstall your printer program leaving your AVG program installed, re-install and accept download as you go. In addition, I kept VPN program off while I did that reinstall. The printer is now working with or without the VPN on when I tested it.
Hello, I purchased the AVG Ultimate package a few days ago and love it and the support service. I just tried to Print from my word document and now it will not interface with my Brothers Printer. I believe it is due to the sleep function on all apps to maximize efficiency of the computer. It appears to have put my Brothers app on permanent sleep mode (doesn't keep it awake long enough for me to go over and print)! Does anyone have a quick suggestion?

PS all of our computers are on the same shared Brothers Computer and again, the computer installed with AVG Ultimate will not cooperate, all others are working great. So definitly something with the AVG install.
