Robert,
I appreciate your efforts and patience so far. You don't have to uninstall AVG completely. Please follow the instructions to change the Firewall settings : Open AVG Zen -> Internet Security -> Click on Menu in the top right corner -> Settings -> Components -> Firewall -> Customize -> Network Profiles -> Change the networks from Public to Private.
Again, go to the Firewall > customize and click on System rules at the bottom of the page. Enable all the network and printer sharing > click ok and check the status.
Thank you for your quick response.
I did the repair as you suggested and did a reboot but it did not make any difference.
AVG is not blocking the internet connection. I have access to the internet either way.
It is when I click the "Connect to VPN" button on HMA it attempts " Connecting to OpenVPN server"
It goes through a bunch of steps attempting to open the connection but will quit after a while.
When I turn the protection to off in AVG , HMA will work.
I can turn AVG protection back on and both are working as they should.
I am wondering should I completely uninstall AVG and do a fresh install?
Hello Robert,
I understand the inconvenience but the issue might have been due to AVG Internet Security blocking the internet connection and it is not about HMA PRO VPN blocked by AVG.
I request you to (repair AVG Internet Security 2017 version) and check whether it resolves the issue.
I have been using AVG Ultimate for the past 4 or 5 years.
I have been using HMA software for the year and a half.
Everything has been working fine up until last week.
Now the HMA software is unable to connect to any of their servers.
I have determined that when I disable AVG, HMA will work fine.
I have created an exception for HMA with AVG does not help
AVG still seems to be blocking HMA.
Have you made any changes to AVG in the past several weeks
that brought on my problem.
If I disable AVG , HMA will than connect , I than have to enable AVG.
After no problems for the past year and a half I find this problem very annoying.
If AVG can't play nice with HMA one of them will have to go…
