Hello Keith,
We regret the inconvenience caused. We would request you to remove previously installed AVG program traces from your system using AVG Remover tool and then try to reinstall AVG Ultimate.
Note:If you have installed any other Antivirus  programs like AVAST, NORTON, MCAFEE or KASPERSKY, Please uninstall it first to avoid conflicts when installing AVG.
Once you have uninstalled from your system,try to follow the steps which mentioned below.
Remover and Download:
1) To download AVG remover tool, please click on this link: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe .
2) Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions.
3) Restart your PC when the restart option is displayed on the remover tool screen.

Dear All,
The above keeps stating that AVG is out of date. tried updating, appears to connect to servers , tells me that I have the latest virus definitions and programs. then promptly goes back to telling me the program is out of date…! Tried tourning laptop off and back on again etc with no luck. Any ideas please. windows 10

4)Once you have logged into your PC after the restart, please go to C:\ drive and delete the "AVG REMOVER" folder manually.
Note : Please use the AVG Remover tool mentioned on the article to uninstall the AVG program more effectively.
