The AVG installer for my AVG Ultimate 3.0 told me to run the Duplicate File software, which I have launched. I get 2 displays of status:
- a bar graph that says NO duplicate files were found…and nothing's changed in the display for
1.5 hours.
- a PC Tune-up chart that has been showing it's actively scanning for now 1.5 hours. And the Task
Manager confirms that the AVG Duplicate Finder is running, using large chunks of the CPU
(10% to >20%…
I'm thinking it's done…and I should just cancel the scan. Community's recommendations ?
Hello Gary,
We can understand your concern. Since AVG Duplicate finder needs to scan your whole hard driver and all the files completely, it has taken the time you have mentioned. Also there is no option or need to save the process manager and Duplicate files. So you can get these files back if you ran the scan once again.
Thank you.
