AVG Ultimate & Web Tuneup

I recently upgraded to Ultimate for my family. After trying the Web Tuneup tool I uninstalled it because of it forcing me through Yahoo (a sub-par search engine with more ads than valuable results) and forcing a homepage I have absolutely no use for. This extension pretty much destroys my web browsing workflow, so I removed it.

My problem now, is that AVG is going to perpetually tell me I have an error, which is not having the extension installed. But if I install it, it makes my browser very inconvenient to use. I am a well-educated internet user and do not need my browser to be baby-sat by this intrusive protection piece.

How do I stop AVG from telling me that I have a problem? I'll be applying for a refund and searching for a new provider if this issue is no resolvable. Having a constant error message in my taskbar is beyond annoying right along with the default pop-up ads that come with the software. :|

Hello Stephen,

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
AVG Web TuneUp is the browser add-on and it helps you to browse securely in the internet so it will setup the AVG Secure Search as your homepage and you couldn't change the homepage if it is set.
In your case, we have to analyze why the message appears, so we have sent you the email instructions to get our additional support.
Please check for the email on spam and junk folders if it is not present in the inbox.
