AVG ULTIMATE - WINDOWS 10 64bit - FIREWALL ACCESS

Hi,

Desktop HP Pavillion PIDN496 Intel(R) Core ™ i&-6700T CPU @ 2.80GHz

  1. I have a LAPTOP Running Windows 10 64 bit with AVG Ultimate - all functions are the same as Desktop and it is running well.
  2. Desktop PC set up December, 2016 CANNOT ACCESS the Internet.
  3. No changes made to AVG
  4. AVG has Firewall Enabled
  5. Has worked fine until now with no AVG Problems
  6. PC Boots OK
  7. WiFi symbol indicated "Internet Connect Internet Access".
  8. Following Browsers do not connect to the Internet - FireFox; Chrome & E
  9. Opening AVG Zen - displays two Boxes - Internet Security & PC Tune Up
  10. Click on Internet Secuirty displays:
  • Computer
  • Web & Email
  • Hacker Attacks
  • Private Data
  • Payments
PROBLEM
  1. Cannot Access the Internet from any of the Browsers
  2. Cannot find any access to Firewall to turn it off !
  3. Have called Support but no advice on how to solve the problem.
Mystery ??

Any ideas ?

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. We request you to temporarily disable the AVG in your PC and check if the connection is active. Right-click the AVG icon in the system tray next to the clock, Move the slide to turn off the AVG.

If the connection works fine when the AVG was disabled, Please follow the instructions to change the Firewall settings to check if that works : Open AVG Zen -> Internet Security -> Click on Menu in the top right corner -> Settings -> Components -> Firewall -> Customize -> Network Profiles -> Change the networks from Public to Private (If it is in Private, change it to Public).

Hi,

I identified the AVG Logo you referred to and turned off AVG.
Internet did not work.
I turned on MS Firewall and tried options of Private and Public access.Internet did not work
Internet did not work.
I connected the Router by USB.
Internet did not work.
I rebooted the PC and turned AVG back On.
PC now connected to the4 Internet.
I am now running a Full Scan.

Many thanks for the response - however I cannot see an AVG Logo with a clock close by ?
I have right clicked onto every AVG Logo but no movements.
