AVG unlimied clashed with Malwarebytes

Hi George,
For a solution see https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/212060-avg-wants-you-to-uninstall/

Hello George,
Please be informed that the latest version of AVG is not compatible with any other antivirus software and we do not recommend using more than one anti virus program simultaneously. Doing so will use much of your CPU resources and may cause PC slowdown.

This afternoon I downloaded and installed the latest software for my AVG Unlimited, it now reports it is software version 17.7.3032, with virus definitions 171007.00.  when I restarted after what appeared t be a successful installation, AVG told me the it was running in passive mode, and I needed to activate it's active mode.  when i did that, it then reported that it couldn't go into active, as Malwarebytes was running on my machine. (I have a fully paid up premium edition of Malwarebytes).  AVG told me I should remove Malwarebytes to activate AVG active mode.  I did, and now AVG is working fine.  I'm wondering if AVG does really clash with MWB, i've had them running together for a long time before today, and this is the first time this has happened.  Advice and explanation please?

I'm guessing that the new version of AVG also performs the same tasks as Malwarebytes.  I wish I'd know that earlier, I've just laid out the money to buy the premium version!
