Finally sorted it out, windows let me do a system restore back (dont know why, i thought i had disabled that) but glad it did.
AVG then did an update (again) and then asked to reboot PC, had no issue's since, but dont know why this happened. Am not on windows 10 yet (awaiting teh free upgrade to come through) but in no rush, they can fix issue's before it gets to me and thought AVG may have done something that conflicts with win 7 (64bit Ultimate edition).
Drive i use is an SSD and is primarily just a windows and software drive (system).
Will let you know if this issue crops up again
Today my AVG gave an update, instantly upon updating my PC literally froze/locked up.
Thinking it may still be updating, i left it for 40-60 minutes (did some other stuff away from PC).
Came back with it still in the same situation. So i tried the CTRL+Alt+Delete but that did not work (no pop-up came up at all). I had to hold in teh power button and switch off that way.
Upon restarting the PC all I got was a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) and a message saying somethign about AVG.Dll is not compatible with this machine (or may have become corrupt with a recent update) or something like that (it was only up for a second or 2 and had about 4 or 5 lines of txt (several attempts at restarting got this).
Anyways, had to do a system check (which rolledback) thank god windows actually did that. But what the h**l happened here?
