Hello Shirley,
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with AVG Antivirus user interface. Yes, in this case I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG Internet Security 2017. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version. Please follow the instruction ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product ) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool. Best regards,
Alok.
Help, I have been sitting here now for over 3 hours trying to fix my avg. It said I needed to update, so clicked on to do this. Rebooted the computer, symbol came up with error click here. Cannot open, so I clicked on the AVG shortcut on desktop - still not opening, went into the control panel and said to repair, have done this 4 times now. Halfway through repair, avg comes on telling me that my internet connection is not working, hacking protection is not working. I have xp - with Google chrome browser, it was working fine until the update. Should I uninstall avg internet security and then reinstall from my email, I have a two year subscription that does not end until 2019. AVG tuneup works fine. HELP please.
