Avg update 3rd oct 2017

On the 3rd Oct 2017 AVG sent out an update for their anti virus, which disabled my computer. After three hours antd many phone calls their technical support staff finally uploaded what appears to me to be the original anti virus. When I log on now my AVG screen states that it is out of date, but if I apply the updated version it is dated 3rd Oct, which is the download that caused all the original problems. At the moment my AVG Screen states that I am covered, so I am going to leave well alone, I have had nothing but problems with AVG since you updated you systems back in Aug. After five years of trouble free anti virus I am seriously thinking of going to another provider.
