AVG update blocking camera for Windows Hello

When are you released the 22.8 update with the fix for bug "blocks webcam"???

Hi Stephen,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
Please clarify whether the issue is fixed after disabling the entire AVG protection or Webcam protection.
If you've not tried disabling Webcam protection alone, please try disabling it to check (Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> Full Protection -> Webcam Protection -> Disable the feature by clicking on the green slider)

Hi
I am experiencing the same problem with my camera can you tell me how to fix it please as I need video calls for my work
Thank you

I have same problem. Any update on this issue?

Hi

I'm running 22.7.3245 (build 22.7.7403.738), which was installed yesterday (5 Aug 2022).

Since the install my camera has stopped working and in particular for Windows Hello. I've verified that AVG is the problem by turning the protection off and the camera started working again.

I can't add Windows Hello to the Allowed apps list as I can't find a single DLL/EXE to add.

ANy ideas

OK

So I checked that Webcam Protection was on, and rebooted, when Windows tried to activate the camera to log me in the camera failed with an error message. I then logged in with my PIN.

I then turned Webcam Protection Protection off (until I turn it on again) and rebooted again, this time the camera worked and I was logged in by Windows Hello.

I turned Protection on again, did another reboot and the camera had stopped working again.

The camera is not working for any app when Protection is turned on, I tried adding the Camera app as an Allowed app, whilst I don't get an error message the camera is still not operating.

I have not had any problems using the camera to log in with or with an app, prior to yesterday's upgrade of AVG Internet Security.

Thanks

I have the same issue with the Canon Webcam Utility, as noted in the Canon community.  Turning off Webcam Protection allows the utility to work. Will the fix being implemented address this as well?
