Thank you.
If you click on advanced options it just shuts the computer down. On re-start it goes through diagnostics then comes back to this screen. Not happy about this at all.
Thank you for the instructions but I can't follow them because the image above is where the computer is at the moment. When we shut down and re-start it comes with the automatic repair screen again then is doing nothing. I cannot click on any options as in the instructions because they are not there.
What I am trying to tell you is we cannot get past this screen. When we click on Advanced options it does nothing. If we turn the computer off it tries to run the diagnostics then goes back to this screen again as in the screenshot. We cannot select System restore because we can't get to the start menu. All we get is the screen that I sent the screenshot of.
We have a home computer network of 2 computers. One laptop running Windows 7 and a PC 2 years old running Windows 10. The most recent update for AVG free version was I think the Link Planner or something like that. After restarting both computers the laptop is now running slowly and freezing up. The PC fires up but again asks for restart then the diagnostic tool attempts to fix the problem but the message comes up saying the automatic repair couldn't repair it. What's happening here???

Hello Deborah,
Thank you for trying our steps. We really appreciate it.
In this case, we suggest you to use your Windows Installation Disk to repair/restore the computer.
Thank you.
