I post this as a warning of what happened to me.

I decided to fetch all necessary modules for windows x32
Result when applying the files ?
A crash…thankfully benign in that switching my machine off then on
thus rebotting windows returned me to the pre crash condition.

Hi,

I'm running AVG AntiVirus 2015.0.5961 on Windows XP. It's successfully registered.
However, when trying to update (virus definition database etc.) I receive a failure ala "no connection to update server, check your internet connection".

My internet connection is fine. [I can access https://av.update.avg.com/softw/av/master.ctf manually.]

I'm running Windows Firewall and have set avgui.exe as exception application, i.e. as not to be blocked.

Any ideas, why the update still fails? Is there another program that has to be set as exception in my firewall? A specific port or protocol?

Any help is highly appreciated,
