Avg update locked up and crashed computer

Hello Seth,

We understand you concern.

Did you get any error message after updating the AVG?

Have you contacted our technical support?

After looking into the issue there are more Post all over the web about avg updates locking up computers and crashing the files than i can believe. Has anyone had anything like this happen?
After restarting my shop computer after a AVG update and it locked it up and denied access to the recovery files. After sitting on the phone with support for over a hour and on hold for most of it they come back on and claim that it is a Microsoft issue and hang up. I just lost so much of my company info and data that its not funny.
I absolutely love AVG. I used free at home for years and have since changed to the full support version at home and do not feel comfortable keeping it anymore if the stuff is crashing computers all over the planet and they refuse to take any responsibility for any of it.  How can a company with such a good reputation have so many complaints around the world for the same thing and take no responsibility, and try and dump it off as a lost customer.

Seth, we realize this must be upsetting.
AVG update shouldn't cause the issue with Windows log in.
Will you be able to take a picture of the windows log in error that you receive using a mobile phone and send it here?

Yes i contacted support as it says in the post. it locked the computer up so i would not take the password, used back up drive to reset and it will not even allow the password reset wizzard to run. Went into bios andd the whole thing is scrambled. it will not even alow a restore to prier state. the files are gone along with all my work info.

Every post on the web says AVG pushes it off as a hardware issue when there updates are clearly scrambling operating systems
