Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. We apologize, we request you to uninstall http://avgclick.me/UninstallAVGAV your older version of AVG and reinstall newer version.

Kindly download your AVG remover and run it, then go to C: drive -> AVG Remover -> Bin -> pctremover.exe and avgfmwremover.exe (do not restart your device if prompted), then run avgremover.exe (it will automatically reboot your device).

Then please remove AVG folders manually as suggested below. Go to Run window (press windows key and R key simultaneously) and type the following comments to delete the folders.

Last year I purchase AVG protection unlimited for my PC’s at home. These are still running on software version 16.141.7998. Will there soon be an automatic update to software version 17.1.3006? Or should I install version 2017 manually on all my computers?

Why must the software be manually removed and updated?

We appreciate it. Please be informed that AVG 2017 is designed in such a way that it can be installed only if the older version of AVG are completely removed from our device. Thank you for your understanding.

  1. Type  “Temp” and press enter, remove all the files.
    2.  “%temp%” and remove all the files.
    3.  %appdata% - Remove all the AVG folders.
    4.  %programdata% - Open the AVG folder and remove the old files.

    Please go to c: drive-> program files and delete the AVG files and download your AVG program from our official site: http://www.avg.com/us-en/download.
