AVG Updater says "try again later"

I haven't been able to update my AVG Updater for 2 weeks or more.  When I click on the items to be updated (right now I have 25 needing updates) there is a 1 or 2 second pause and I get a message that the items can't be updated right now and I should try again later.  I have turned off/on my computer; turned off/on router; made sure the internet was connected each time, and still get the same message.  My Updater list went from 18 items last week to 25 today.  Help.
