AVG updates in Windows 10

Hello David,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
You can check the update information by clicking on "REPORTS" tab at the top of AVG interface.
We request you to completely reinstall your AVG program using our AVG remover tool.
1) To download AVG remover tool, please click on this link: http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
2) Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions.
3) Restart your PC when the restart option is displayed on the remover tool screen.
NOTE: Once you have logged into your PC after the restart, please go to C: drive and delete the "AVG REMOVER" folder manually.

To download, install and activate AVG Internet Security please follow the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/1DXPL5z
Please feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.

I carried out your instructions and removed AVG with a few re-starts. The AVG Remover tool folder in the C drive was empty but I deleted it. I then downloaded and installed AVG but was not asked for my licence number which was IM9SO-Y4RKT-7VPU6-A7GVR-ZTL7D-B expiring in March 2017. The AVG which has loaded is showing a licence number of IANPG-72HIR-NUQU2-A446J-NOA4M-H which expires 26/8/2016. I tried to re-activate my old licence but it does not accept the number. I have lost 7 months subscription. What is wrong? Can you re-activate my old licence? Will you need acess to my laptop or shall I phone in on 0800-085-4139 to seek their help?

Since loading Windows 10 I think I have noticed that AVG Internet Security is not updating automatically. The last update date showing was a day or so old so when I selected the "Protection is up to date" button it did in fact download updates. I have tried reading the HELP section but cannot understand what the setting in "When to update Files" actually does. How do I confirm that AVG is updating automatically? In easy to understand responses please. Thanks

Hello David,
We apologize for the inconvenience.
The license number you have provided is a genuine one. You can try to activate the AVG program using the full license number, which we have send to your email address. Please check your email and enter the full license number and see if that fix the issue. Please let us know the status.
Thank you.
