AVG upgrade major bug

Hi Paul,

This isn't the experience we wanted you to have with AVG.

To check this, I suggest you to repair AVG and monitor if you still receive the pop-up.

For the steps to repair, refer the article: https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Repair-AVG-Antivirus

Last night my AVG upgraded, asked for a reboot and now it has stuck my PC in a loop asking enhanced firewall question Allow AVGxxx.exe to access the web. I clicked 'allow' about a hundred times (remember my answer checked), rebooted many times, now it says allow 'aswidsagent.exe' (part of AVG), I have given it about a hundred Allows (remember my answer) but still stuck! Asked AVG for help but the help system says 'help not available' (I assume because of Covid-19 issues) and redirects me to here. My PC is now useless because I cannot click off the window. Any ideas?

Thanks Sarath, I did this (it only took about a few seconds?), it stopped aswidsagent.exe being in the infinite loop but converted the issue to hundreds of svchost requests! but at least I could move the window and had a usable PC back thanks so I could at least investigate further. I ran another program CCleaner and cleaned up the registry and I think that may have solved the problem. I am a programmer and a week ago I had a bug that resulted in an infinite loop that even overwhelmed task manager and I had to cross my fingers and press reset! I think that may have corrupted something in the registry perhaps?

Thank you for replying, Paul.
