2 days ago I started receiving a pop up stating:
AVG User Interface has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program an notify you if a solution is available.
I can "Close Program" or hit the X in the upper window. Either way, a few minutes later I get the same pop up. Shutting down and restarting does nothing. I've noticed it happens everytime a get a pop up looking like a present with a red bow in the bottom right just above my taskbar with a button reading Open My Gift. When I Close Program or hit the X on the pop up about the interface not working, it doesn't actually close AVG but just that ad window that also popped up, or popped under to be exact.
Anyone have any idea how to stop this? It's getting very annoying.
- Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions.
3) Restart your PC when the restart option is displayed on the remover tool screen.
4)Once you have logged into your PC after the restart, please go to C:\ drive and delete the "AVG REMOVER" folder manually.

Well I just used the AVG Remover to remove AVG and then reinstalled the Free version again. I was running an initial full scan and a couple minutes in I got the same pop up back. This is really ridiculous since it all seem to be stemming from an advertisement trying to get me to upgrade to a paid version. I've been using AVG for years without issue but I might have to make a switch.

Thank you for the information.
We would request you to remove previously installed program traces of (AVG 2015 or AVG 2014)from your system using AVG Remover tool and then try to reinstall AVG Protection Free.
Note: If you have installed any other conflicting programs like AVAST, NORTON, McAfee or KASPERSKY try to uninstall it.
