This isn't the usual behavior of AVG. Let us work towards fixing the issue.
Please let us know whether there are any other antivirus installed on your computer.
Reason being, if there are multiple security software, they would compete for resources.
For better clarity, share us the screenshot of Task manager that shows the CPU usage.
Also, let us know if you've used AVG Clear tool to uninstall AVG & reinstalled AVG.
There are no other antivirus programs on the computer, and yes I have tried the AVG clear tool, both in and out of safe mode. Nothing worked
AVG is always using 100% CPU, making it difficult to run other programs. I have tried updating, repairing, and uninstalling, none of which do anything. Any ideas would be helpful, thank you
