Trojan is a Trojan. other firewalls/antivris software agrees and activated on the same set of Trojans. Infact, It wouldnt even let it be written onto the computer.
Where as AVG let it install and modify system files.
Your Definitions might have changed, but the Internet and Computer industry has not. AVG does not protect my computer. I already had malaware install that I caught myself. If I would have renewed my subscribtion I would be suing for false advertising. This is outragous.

We will help you sort it out.
It seems you're using our older version of AVG Antivirus Free, because AVG Zen has been removed from our latest version of AVG Antivirus Free.
In this case, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG Antivirus Free.
Please follow the instruction ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product ) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool.
After the computer reboots, you can follow the instruction to download/install AVG Antivirus Free.

Long story short, AVG self updated to ZEN, reinstalled to what ever version DOESNT use the malware known as AVGZEN but now however it is using 91,420k (Previous was 16,000k-20,000k) of resources at idle and seems to grow the longer it sits. No scans running. Just idling.
My computer appears slower,AVG opens slower and frankly everything has been worse since I updated. I previously had AVGFREE2015 which never let me down but somehow (through misclick or what) it got updated.
I currently have all settings requiring my input for anything. including future updates (Since updating is what broke everything "dont fix it if it aint broke.")
Ive fun AVGFree for YEARS (gotta be since 2005?) by itself never let me down as it would only bug me if there was an major update OR that it caught something. I dont want this other,useless,cellphone type garbage popping up.
AVG ZEN was so messed up that I couldnt even open it! the little box would sit right behind where the "Show hidden icons" box is. This cell phone trash needs to get off of pc.

After disabling all but 1 feature of AVG, only 1 process of AVG is using 19k of resources confirming that it is a memory leak and other posts on here and other places confirm that AVG 2018 is poorly made.
I am a 12 customer and was an advocate for saying AVG was the best and it was free and only got better if you paid afew bucks. To say the least I am disappointed how far downhill AVG has lost its way.

Mark, Please note that the virus definitions for 2016 and older versions have now been stopped and AVG strongly recommend using the latest 2018 version.
