AVG Using up most of my Memory and CPU?

We're glad to look into this & help you.
Sometimes, this might happen if there are multiple protection programs installed on the same computer.
They'd compete for resources & none will work effectively.
In this regard, please check & remove, if there are any other antivirus installed on your computer.
If there are no other security software, share us the screenshot of the task manager that shows the AVG consumption of CPU.

My computer has been slightly slower  recently, I check the Task Manager and it says AVG Internet System Security Service is using up most of my Memory and CPU? How do I fix this?
