Yes, AVG will perform a in-depth scan.
We would like to understand more about the situation.
Do you have screenshots of the scan results to have a look at it?

I recently installed the free version of AVG. AVG ran a scan & found no problems. However I was concerned that I still had a virus on my laptop.  I uninstalled AVG & ran the free copy of Bit Defender anti virus. After installation & scanning it stated that it had detected 128 viruses/mailware
ect on my laptop. I found this very confusing to say the least.I could not figure out the interface on Bit Defender & Uninstalled it & reinstalled AVG. AVG scaned my laptop & found nothing. Its all very confusing. Is AVG carring out an indepth scan or was Bit Defender finding things that AVG ignore?
Any answers apreciated.
