Let's work together to fix it. Could you share the screenshot of that detection message with full path to have better understanding.

Click on "See Details" at the bottom right corner of popup to view its full path. Have you tried to add those files to the exception lists?

My AVG v18.6 (pro subscription) with definitions updated to v18100205 on Mac OSX High Sierra is quarantining randomly chosen PDF files. It does not even do it systematically… 

I would not mind if it did it for the received files, but it does with files that I have generated myself either by using the Apple's original "Export as PDF" function or by printing with the Apple's original apple printer service.
