AVG Vault Software on PC

Hello Scott,

We are sorry to hear this.

We will certainly help you with the necessary information.

Are you referring to Data safe?

Thank you for providing us the info, Scott. Let us road map you on what needs to be done to restore the files in Data Safe.
We need to remove the existing version & install the older version of AVG to recover the Data Safe (if vault is unavailable to access in Sensitive Shield)
In this regard, we'd suggest you to take advantage of our free remote assistance to make this process easier. An email including the steps to connect to our remote team has been sent to you.

I've used AVG for years, and lately i've become more and more unhappy with their products. my subscription has now expired and while I shop for a new product I've just remembered I encrypted some files using their "vault" software on the PC. How can I un-encrypt my files without needing to resubscribe to their services?

That is correct, my recent subscription has lapsed. I have:

Software Version: 19.5.3093

Thank you for explaining, Scott. We see that you're concerned about the Data Safe. Upon checking your account, we see that you've subscribed to the trial version of AVG Internet Security.
If you've installed it on your computer, would you be so kind to let us know the version of it? (Open AVG - Menu - About).

I don't recall the specific name of the windows software, it may well have been. All I recall is that it was represented by some sort of vault/safe icon. And you encrypted files with a password. on my E:\ I'm left with a $AV_AVG$VAULT directry with some of my files encrypted.
