Thank you for reaching us here. Some providers block VPN traffic due to security and copyright reasons, the major being BBC and Netflix. This is an issue on the provider end but not the VPN application issue. However, you could try changing the VPN server location to Gotham, Miami, NewYork, Seattle, Wonderland and stream the videos.

Thank you.  I switched the location to Gotham as you suggested but it didn't help.   I am not convinced that it is a "provider" issue rather than an AVG issue.   If I hadn't bought VPN from AVG my IP address would have identified as being within the UK range.  It is the AVG product that is changing this and therefor stopping access to the iplayer/netflix

I purchased AVG VPN but I have now identified that when this is switched on it changes the Internet Access to "unidentified network internet access".  It still allows internet access and functionality except for BBC iplayer (and other TV channels).  When I try to use iplayer it indicates the IP address is not valid.  Is there anything I can do about this except switch off the VPN when I wish to use the iplayer?

John, yes, that's correct. AVG Secure VPN masks your IP address and provides a temporarily IP address when you connect from a different server.

You can try to other suggested servers and check if you are able to stream videos from BBC.
