AVG VPN blocks access to external hard drive

Hi Danny,

We will help you to sort out the issue.

Are you able to access the hard drive when you turn off AVG Secure VPN?

Keep us posted.

I will not do the remote hookup.  Apparently there are settings that are changed in the windows 10 operating system that does not get changed back when the VPN is uninstalled.  Is it possible to get a list of the things changed in the operating syatem by the VPN install?
Can you get me a contact number in the United States for AVG?

Hello Danny. Thank you very much for taking the time to communicate, and I apologize for the delayed response. My name is Shawn, and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team.

I read through the dialogue, and I understand your initial reported disruptions, have since been resolved.

Specific to your follow-up questions, simply answered, AVG Secure VPN does not make any BIOS setting changes and it does not change the "SMB 1.0/CISF client" option.

I trust this explanation and information help clarify your concern. Regards, Shawn

AVG VPN has disabled my access to my external hard drive.  Now my hard drive connection is not listed on my computer.  How can I get my hard drive re-introduced to my windows 10 computer so I can access it?

I had uninstalled the VPN earlier, then I did a system recover and this is the situtation of the VPN file now.  Tried to uninstall and this is error I got.  I could not uninstall now.

We understand your concern, Danny. The callback option is unavaialble currently. Instead you can reach our phone support by using this number :+1 925 732 4274. Meanwhile, you can try booting your computer in safe mode & then attempt to uninstall AVG Secure VPN.

We're sorry to know that, Danny. Upon checking the previous incident with us, we see that the issue might be with the hard drive itself. Reason being, all the possible troubleshooting has been already done & the issue persists, even after disconnecting, uninstalling AVG Secure VPN.
Hence, we suggest you to connect remotely to investigate further.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!

Thank you for providing the screenshot, Danny

This VPN has my computer all messed up.  I can't use Corel Draw because it internet linked.  Can't use my virtual machine because of the VPN???  Help!

Why is Avast being automatically loaded on all my systems???

Thank You; It's just seems more than a coincidence when things go wrong after installation.
Thank You again for Your help;

I appreciate the offer of remote assistance; however, I do not allow remote assist on my computer.  What I would like for you to do is have an IT that has indepth knowledge of computers, windows 10, AVG VPN contact me to resolve the problem over the phone.  The VPN is the cause of all these problems; we need help from the VPN sources to correct the problem.
